White to speak at Sunday service

PARIS — The First Universalist Church on Pine Street welcomes Anita White to the pulpit on Sunday, Sept. 29. The title of White’s sermon for the 10 a.m. worship service is “Just One.”

Music is under the direction of Donna Hurd and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales. Coffee, friendship and fellowship will follow and all are welcome. Childcare is available and the church is wheelchair accessible.

Church to have guest service leader

LEWISTON — Sheen St. Paul will be the guest service leader Sunday, Sept. 29, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 59 Sabattus St.

His sermon will be on “The Haves and the Have-Nots.” Music will be by the Praise Team led by Mitch Thomas. The service begins at 10:30 a.m. and childcare is available.

A new season of programming for children, Faith Village, takes place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. All children are welcome.

‘Not Yet Perfect’ topic of Sunday sermon

NORWAY —  Join the First Universalist Church of Norway on Sunday, Oct. 6, as the Rev. Faye Stephenson offers a service titled “Not Yet Perfect.” The service will explore how Unitarian Universalists seek and find forgiveness.

The church is located at 479 Main St. and services start at 11 a.m. Childcare and religious education are provided.

Maine Christian writers to gather

WATERVILLE — Maine Fellowship of Christian Writers 20th conference on Saturday, Oct. 12, will feature award-winning Maine writer Meadow Rue Merrill of Bath.

Merrill will talk about making a living as a writer at the Faith Evangelical Church. The conference, “Cover to Cover,” will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a cost of $50, and aims to inform, encourage and equip Christian writers of all genres.

Also presenting will be certified Christian life coach Vicki Corrington, of Camden, whose work has taken her around the world. Her message will focus on priorities and making room for what is important. Four other speakers will participate in the program, which will conclude with a question-and-answer panel followed by an open mic.
