Chorus, painting at Stuff the Bus

AUBURN — During its Stuff the Bus promotion to benefit the food pantry at Edward Little High School, the school chorus will perform from 9 to 11 a.m. and face-painting will be offered by ELHS students from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event takes place Sunday, Oct. 6, at Big Lots.

Golden Age Club meets Oct. 8

AUBURN — The next meeting for the Golden Age Club will be Tuesday, Oct. 8. The group will hold its annual Harvest Dinner with pies for dessert. Cost is $5.

Games will be available from 11 a.m. to noon, with lunch at noon followed by a short meeting with election of officers.

Lakeside OES to meet Oct. 8

WALES — The Lakeside Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Grange/Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road. The chapter will be honoring worthy matrons and worthy patrons, past and present.

Since members from Lakeside journeyed to Pine Cone Chapter and captured the Traveling Teapot, members will find out where it will go next.

On Oct. 19, Lakeside Chapter will have a tea party to honor the Wales and Sabattus Community Volunteers in the dining hall from 9 to 10 a.m., while the members of Webster Lodge will be having their open house.

Light refreshments will be available.

Burnt Meadow DAR meets Oct. 12

BOWDOIN — Burnt Meadow Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at the home of Mrs. Byras in Bowdoin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

A silent auction is planned. A discussion of the Call for the Fall Meeting of the Maine Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a reminder to gather supplies of veterans comfort items will be given. Light refreshments will follow the business meeting.

Bean supper at Masonic hall

DURHAM — The final Masonic bean supper of the season will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the lodge on Route 136 across from the Durham River Park

Prices are $7.50 adults, $3 children 5-12, free for children under 5. On the menu are baked beans, chop suey, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, bread, pickles and homemade pies.

Supper will benefit The Durham Giving Tree for area children who will not have a Christmas.

Children’s Theater registrations

TURNER — Children’s Theater of Turner is open for registrations.

Elementary age children are invited to explore theatrical performing through theater games, improvisation and storytelling.

There will be two sessions. One is for grades K-3 and the other is for grades 4-6. Each session will end with a wonderful performance at the Leavitt Area High School Auditorium.

The five-week program for grades K-3 will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Nov. 4 through Dec. 16. The cost is $40 with a $5 lab fee.

A six-week program for grades 4 to 6 will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 6 through Dec. 18. The cost is $50 with a $5 lab fee.
