1955 – 2013

AUBURN — Gary Gene Fitch, 58, of Plaisted Road, Jay, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Hospice House.

He was born in Farmington on Aug. 26, 1955, a son of George and Eleanor (Welch) Fitch and received his education in local schools. Gary was employed as a truck driver for Warren Hood prior to his illness.

On Sept. 23, 2000, he married Amy Flanders of Jay. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Amy, of Jay; children, Jeffrey Fitch and his wife, Mishelle, of Wilton, Darcie Hunt and her husband, Steve, of Jay, and Kayla Fitch of Jay; a stepson, Dustin Hargreaves of Jay; grandchildren, Brandon Fitch, Ally Fitch and Emma Fitch, all of Wilton, and Garrett and Brett Hunt, both of Jay; a stepgranddaughter, Cary Rae Millbury of Wilton; brothers, Bryan Fitch and his wife, Crystal, of Freeman Twp., Bill Fitch and his wife, Mavis, of Jay, Roger Fitch and his wife, Rattana, of Strong, George Fitch and his wife, Bonnie, of Farmington, Tim Fitch and his wife, Carla, of Wilton, and Paul Fitch of Jay; sisters, Joyce Smiley and her husband, Dick, of Chesterville, and Nat Daniels and her husband, Mike, of Wilton.

He was predeceased by a brother, Randy; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
