DIXFIELD — The Board of Selectmen will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at the Ludden Memorial Library to discuss maintenance on the roof of the Public Works garage.
The board has been discussing the possibility of doing work on the roof since February, when former Town Manager Eugene Skibitsky said a series of snowstorms left a “pretty bad leak.”
“The 15 inches of snow that came in a couple of weeks ago did a number on us, and after the weather warmed up, the snow melted and caused a nasty leak,” Skibitsky said prior to the board’s Feb. 25 meeting. “We’re going to decide what we want to do and see if we can get someone in there to assess the structure and possibly fix it.”
During the selectmen meeting Sept. 23, the board unanimously voted to have Town Manager Linda Pagels-Wentworth solicit bids to repair the leak. Al Hodsdon of A.E. Hodsdon Engineers in Waterville presented a status report on the roof at that meeting.
The board will also discuss bids for winter sand and a surplus plow truck.
