EXETER, N.H. — Roberta Pevear, writer, New Hampshire state representative and legal secretary, has attained the highest level of membership to the National Association of Professional Women as a VIP Woman of the Year and has been recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession. Pevear is a native of Bethel and graduated from Gould Academy.

Pevear spent more than three decades in business administration and law before serving in the New Hampshire Legislature. Now retired, she has been transcribing 150-year-old letters written between her great-grandfather and great-grandmother during the Civil War.

She was named VIP Woman of the Year by NAPW for her demonstrated leadership and dedication to her community.

The NAPW is a network of nearly 500,000 professional women who come together to interact, exchange ideas and empower themselves. There are close to 400 local NAPW chapters nationwide.
