VEAZIE — A man from Bath is schedule to appear in court next month to answer to a criminal speeding charge he received after an alleged high-speed drive on Stillwater Avenue.
Veazie police Officer Brian Sirois was on patrol the night of Sept. 27 when he saw a red Mazda heading north toward Orono on Stillwater Avenue, according to a police report. Sirois said that he clocked the Mazda’s speed at 91 mph in a 45 mph zone,
When Sirois pulled the car over, driver Ryan Talbot said he was passing another car and did not know how fast he was traveling. A check of Talbot’s driving record showed four prior violations, including one from August for speeding more than 15 mph over the posted limit.
Sirois issued Talbot a court summons.
