FARMINGTON — Titcomb Mountain will hold its final Oct. 26 Pass Blast, which includes a volunteer work day and appreciation barbecue. Everyone is invited to learn about programs, events and passes. Saturday, Oct. 26, is also the last day to get the very best prices on pass memberships; $50 down per membership secures this low price. The barbecue will be held at 12:30.

The family-friendly area provides more than 15 lift-serviced skiing and snowboard trails, as well as more than 15 km of groomed cross-country ski trails for both classic and skating. It is one of the oldest areas in the state, and has survived mainly because so many volunteers have given their time and energy with all aspects of running the area, allowing it to remain affordable.

Volunteer work days are Saturdays, Oct. 19 and 26. The two main areas of need are never ending: the trees and brush keeps on growing every year, and with the number of buildings, the paint keeps peeling somewhere. Work times are 9 a.m. to noon and noon to 4 p.m., but any time spent is appreciated.

Wear old clothes and bring any step ladders, weed and brush trimmers and whackers, and/or chain saws. Gloves, paint brushes and some tools will be available.

To volunteer at another time, call to set up an appointment.

The Annual New and Used Ski and Snowboard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 2, at Mt. Blue High School.

Consignment items can be brought to the school between 5 and 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.
