1931 – 2013
MEXICO — Doris G. McInnis, 82, of Worthley Avenue, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Oct. 17, with loving family at her side.
She was born Feb. 18, 1931, in Mexico, a daughter of James A. and Yvonne (Hamanne) Gallant.
Doris was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School Class of 1949. She was a CNA having worked at Bridgton Memorial Hospital and retired from Rumford Hospital. Doris was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. She loved to knit, crochet, do crossword puzzles and going out to eat.
Doris will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, not only to her three children but to many others. She will also be remembered as a loving grandmother to her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Bernard McInnis, of Mexico; three children, Susan Paradis and husband, Carl, of Waterville, Sharon McInnis of Scarborough, Stephen McInnis and wife, Debra, of Locust Grove, Va.; a sister, Anita Coulombe of Rumford; a brother, Arthur Gallant and wife, Ruth, of Saco; three grandchildren, Sean Paradis of Waterville, Caitlin McInnis of Scarborough, and Kimberly Southworth of Ruther Glen, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; four sisters, Yvonne Gallant, Mary Gallant, Jeannette Lamontagne and Beatrice McInnis; and two brothers, Joseph Gallant and Edgar Gallant.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Market Square Health Center and her home care givers for the wonderful care given to Doris.
