HALLOWELL — Gaslight Theater will produce “Promises, Promises” which is the story of a nice guy, in a world where niceness goes unnoticed and unrewarded. The story concerns a junior executive at an insurance company who seeks to climb the corporate ladder by allowing his apartment to be used by his married superiors for trysts.

Chuck Baxter wants to be a romantic figure, but girls don’t remember his name. He wants a promotion in his Manhattan insurance office but Mr. Sheldrake of Personnel is oblivious to him. Chuck soon discovers what other people consider his only assert — his apartment for extramarital romantic trysts.

But things become slightly complicated when Fran Kubelik, the object of Chuck’s affection, becomes the mistress of one of his executives.

All productions will be at Hallowell City Hall Auditorium, 1 Winthrop Street at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23; and at 2 p.m. Nov. 17. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students. Call 207-626-3698 for reservations or go to http://gaslighttheater.org/00_reservation.php.
