1930 – 2013
LEWISTON — Louisette P. Plante, 83, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Oct. 13, at d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Frenchville on March 31, 1930, the daughter of the late Abraham and Mary (Hebert) Dionne. She attended local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in the Class of 1948. On May 31, 1965, she married Roger Plante in Waterbury, Conn.
In 1977, she moved back to Lewiston and worked as a CNA at d’Youville Pavilion, where she worked for several years caring for the elderly until she retired. She enjoyed her retirement, spending much time with her husband in Florida.
Louisette loved entertaining and cooking for her family, baking, knitting, sewing and playing bingo. She was well known for her wedding and all-occasion cakes. She particularly loved camping with her husband and children for more than 35 years. Competitor dominoes was one of her favorite activities, along with making baby bonnets for premies at the hospital.
Louisette is survived by her husband of over 48 years, Roger Plante; five sons, Paul Pelletier and wife, Susan, Raymond Pelletier, Richard Pelletier and wife, Laurie, Roger Plante Jr. and wife, Janice, and Gary Plante; three daughters, Janet Robinson and husband, Robert, Lisa Hubbard and husband, Scott, and Denise Hurilla and husband, Ray; two brothers, Herman and Conrad Dionne; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 28 nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Dionne; and grandson, Hunter Hubbard.
The family would like to thank the staff at 4 West at d’Youville Pavilion for the excellent care and love showed to Louisette during her time there.
