WATERVILLE — Dorothy M. Garrett, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Maine General Health — Thayer Hospital after a short illness. She was a resident of Madison.
Born in Rumford, on March 7, 1922, she was a daughter of Emilia Richard. She spent the majority of her life in the Rumford, Mexico and Dixfield area and most recently in Madison. She was a well-known and well-liked cashier at Rommy’s Market in Mexico and for many years a renowned Avon Representative. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius — St. John Church in Rumford.
Mom loved Small Point (The Seagull) at Hermit Island, Yahtzee, any card game, bowling, dancing, the Red Sox and especially her family.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, Judy and her husband, Dr. Robert Bonney, of East Aurora, N.Y., Peggy and her husband, Robert Garrett, of Sydney, Patti Jean Perry of Manchester; two sons, Peter Perry and his wife, Carmen, of Rumford, Stephen Perry and his wife, Randi, of Gorham; her fiancé, Joe Hayden, of Madison; two brothers, Robert Dayon, Ronald Dayon and his wife, Gloria, of Rumford; two sisters, Vernice Collette of Rumford and Shirley Dunn of Milton Plantation; a sister-in-law, Doris Dayon of Rumford.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, Raymond Perry and Wilfred Garrett; her daughter, Suzanne Holt; her brother, Hector Dayon; her granddaughter, Danielle Perry; and her great-grandson, Spencer.
