DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Grand Trunk Station on Lincoln Street in Lewiston was the final stop for many French Canadians coming from elsewhere to work in local mills.

The Grand Trunk cafe, located in the old station, is looking for pictures, information and stories that you may have or know about the Grand Trunk station.

We want to recognize L-A’s Franco-American heritage and would like for your history to be a shared part of ours. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact us. — media@grandtrunkcafe.com, 207-330-0518

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have lost two of my three walking canes. I’m in dire need of them because they held special meaning. One belonged to my mother. The other was given to me as a gift when I had to begin using a cane.

I lost them by placing them on the trunk of my car while putting items in the back seat. Then I got into my car and drove off, and somewhere they left their place on the trunk of my car and landed on the roadside.

One was wooden and had an etching on it by a Native American in Florida. It was lost in Greene near the corner going to North River Road or near St. Francis Catholic Church on Route 202.

The black metal one with a wooden handle would have been lost in Jay on Main Street near Church Street.

If anyone found them, would you contact me at 225-3001? A reward will be given. — Jim, JMartel616@aol.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: You’re my favorite part of the paper, so I wanted to share with your readers.

On Wednesday, Oct. 16, I left my wallet in my cart at Hannaford’s in Lewiston. I had more than $300 in cash and gift cards and my ID, Social Security and five credit cards.

I realized my mistake after driving home and made a frantic search of my car. With my heart pounding, I called the store. The woman at Hannaford asked my name and said she had my wallet in the safe and that a woman had brought it in to her and even tried to flag me down as I was driving out.

I just wanted the lady who took my wallet back to know how much it means to me! I have also found money and pocketbooks, a money bag with cash in it and returned it all, knowing that one day it would come back to me.
