RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Sylvia Fontaine was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Alfred Jacques was the celebrant.

Bernard Poirier was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were, “Be Not Afraid,” “You Raise Me Up,” “On Eagles’ Wings” and “Fly Like a Bird.” The Old Testament was proclaimed by Pearl Snowman. The New Testament was proclaimed by Grace Baril. Offertory gifts were presented by Gerard and Carol Dorion. Personal reflections were shared by Linda Howe.

Interment was in St. John Cemetery. Pallbearers were Seth Howe, Jonathan Howe, Edward Fontaine IV, Steve Fontaine and Jarod Fontaine. A reception was held at the Eagles. Services were under the care and guidance of S.G. Thibault Funeral Home, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford.
