CMMC talk on managing diabetes

LEWISTON — “Some Things You Should Know About Managing Diabetes” is the subject of a Central Maine Medical Center Accenting Your Health presentation set for Monday, Nov. 4.

Kate Gosselin, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator (CDE), and Mercedes Peralta, RN, CDE, will discuss topics that include sugar substitutes, low blood sugar, and A1C testing.

The free program will be presented from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Chairmen’s Rooms on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building.

Shaker Museum closes, store still open

NEW GLOUCESTER — The Shaker Museum, founded in 1931, marked the close of its 82nd season on Oct. 14.

The Shaker Store with a full line of gifts, crafts, herbs, yarn, homemade pickle, relish and jelly, will remain open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays, through the first Saturday in December, which is the Shaker Christmas Fair.
