I see that former mayor Larry Gilbert Sr. is a candidate, again, for the mayor of Lewiston.
When I really look at the man, he only wants to be in the spotlight, no matter the issue. He just loves to bloviate and blows his own horn. But when he was mayor, I don’t think he ever did much for Lewiston. He is against small business, such as the mom and pop stores. He is not in favor of business expansion, or I should say, re-zoning for businesses that may need it, therefore creating discontent.
Lewiston deserves much better. It needs a no-nonsense approach to government; a person who can actually voice his opinion and not be afraid of polls.
Somehow, residents have become afraid to confront their own city government for fear of being put in the limelight with retribution.
