LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Laurier J. Jean was celebrated by the Rev. Stephen Concannon and concelebrated by the Rev. Frank Morin and the Rev. Paul Marquis Monday morning, Oct. 28, at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish.

At the beginning of Mass, Larry’s children, Eric and Nicole Jean, draped their father’s casket with the white Baptismal pall, which signifies their father’s Baptism into a new spiritual life with God.

The New Testament reading was presented by Larry’s goddaughter, Celeste Chapman. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by Larry’s goddaughter, Kathy Cyr. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Larry’s grandson, Ethan Jean, and Larry’s daughter-in-law, Carie Jean.

The Revs. Concannon, Morin and Marquis all recited committal prayers at the entombment at St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Prior to the conclusion of services, the U.S. Army Honor Detail played taps and presented our country’s flag to Larry’s wife, Anita, in honor of her husband’s service to our country.

Pallbearers were all of Larry’s nephews, Andre, John and Mark Morin, as well as Kevin Chapman and Brian and Neil Ouellette. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
