LIVERMORE FALLS — A fire leveled a mobile home Monday at 101 Pine Ridge Loop. It was the third home destroyed by fire in the park located off Route 106 since late August.

In the two previous fires, residents had been alerted to the fires by smoke detectors and had escaped their burning homes.

None of the fires have been suspicious, fire officials said.

Owner Bruce Grant, 57, was on his way to Chesterville on Monday to see a friend when he received a call from a family member, telling him his home was on fire, Grant said at the scene.

His dog, Blue, was with him.

The home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, Livermore Falls fire Chief Tim “TD” Hardy said. The roof had fallen in, he said.

About 20 firefighters from Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls responded to fight the blaze reported at 12:27 p.m. A Wilton rapid intervention team was canceled en route to the fire.

Grant had lived at the home since May but had owned it for more than a year, Grant said.

He had been renovating the home and had just put down hardwood floors and installed new vinyl windows, he said.

He has no insurance.

When Grant arrived to see his home destroyed, he was shaken up and was checked out by a crew from NorthStar EMS ambulance, Hardy said.

They wanted him to go to the hospital but he declined, Grant said.

The cause is undetermined due to the damage, Hardy said.

“It is not suspicious,” he said.

Grant plans to stay with family members.
