1923 – 2013

LEWISTON — Romeo “Minno” Sansoucy, 90, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 3, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 5, 1923, the son of Napoleon and Lauza Baron Sansoucy. He attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1941. On May 9, 1944, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Jeanette Richard; they were married for 69 years.

During his life, “Minno” was a sales executive for WLAM Radio and later retired from the Lewiston Sun Journal. He was a longtime member of the Martindale Country Club and later the Poland Spring Country Club. An avid and very loyal New England sports fan, he was an “armchair manager” for his beloved Boston Red Sox. Although he never second-guessed the manager, he always felt he could have made a better decision.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of Lewiston; two children, Dan and wife, Nancy, of Lewiston and Jeannie and husband, Gary Weber, of Lewiston; grandchildren, John Weber and wife, Alyssa, of Westford, Mass., Melissa and husband, Tim Hebert, of Lewiston, Dan Sansoucy II and wife, Shelley, of Auburn and Michelle and husband, Brian, of Minot; and seven great-grandchildren, Evie and Mia Webber, Sawyer and Jack Hebert, Sophie Sansoucy and Matthew and Emma Gagnon. Also surviving are longtime friends, John Butler and Moe Ouellette.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Jerome, Armand and Robert; and two sisters, Lolita Sansoucy and Madeline Boutin.
