BOWDOIN — James Daniel Newman, 41, of Bowdoin, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Nov. 5, with his family by his side.

He was born in Stoughton, Mass., on Nov. 25, 1971, a son of Raymond Newman and Karen Saindon. Before falling ill at a young age, he was a CNA and medical technician. On Aug. 19, 1995, he married Tracy Allen Stein in Bowdoin, where they worked and made their home.

He was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed model shipbuilding and spending hours doing art projects with his children and granddaughter.

James is survived by his wife, Tracy Allen Stein Newman; children, Miranda Stein of Brunswick and Megan Stein of Bowdoin; granddaughter, Paige Swanson; father, Raymond L. Newman of Oak Harbor, Wash.; mother, Karen Saindon and husband, Ron, of Lisbon Falls; brother, Richard Newman of Florida; sister, Stacey Bradfield of Belgrade; stepbrothers, Paul and Michael Saindon; aunts, Linda Newman and Barbara and husband, Denis Morrissey; and several nieces and nephews.
