1959 – 2013

LISBON FALLS — “Bub,” 54, of Lisbon Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, peacefully at his home with his nephew, Nick McNamara, by his side.

He was the son of Jacquline Smith Spear and Harold Fowler Sr., and was born on Oct. 6, 1959, in Lewiston. Bub attended Lisbon High School and went on to work for many years at Bath Iron Works. He loved to spend time with family and friends, and was “Uncle Bub” to many. He lived life the way he wanted, although few approved of how he did it. He was generous and loving, wild and reckless. He was a classic hippie rebel from the ’70s.

He was the most giving man around; even though he didn’t have a lot, he would give you the shirt off his back. He had a very kind heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Jackie Spear, and stepfather, Wesley Spear, of Lisbon Falls; his daughters, Christiana and Jack Campbell and their children, Shawn, Peyton and Jack; Hailie and Brian DeCelle and their children, Aiden and Ruby; and Asia Carry; his siblings, Mickey and LeeAnne Fowler, Tiny Holbrook, James and Linda Fowler, Frank and Karen Fowler and Glen and Niki Spear; his nieces and nephews, Michelle Seligbon and her daughter, Kyra, Jimmy and Ashley Fowler and their children, Tyler and Jameson, Jamalyn, Katelyn and Kayla Fowler, Michael, Sarah and Hannah Holbrook, and Lincoln and Alex Spear; and his adopted families, the Patenaudes and the McNamaras. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Harold Fowler Sr.; and his “special nieces,” Kerri McNamara and Penny Patenaude.
