COTE — Verna A., 84, of Lewiston, passed peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 9, with her loving family surrounding her. A memorial service to celebrate Verna’s life will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. in the Chapman Gathering Room at Gracelawn Memorial Park, located at 980 Turner St., Auburn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, at St. Joseph’s Church in Farmington with the Rev. Thomas Lequin officiating. THOMPSON — Reuel E. “Tom,” 70, of Madrid, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. A time of memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in the function room of the White Elephant Country Store, 26 S. Main St., Strong, ME 04983. WALDEN — Jean Gowen, 78, of Greenwood, Ind., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9, following a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a service celebrating Jean’s life at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Carll-Heald and Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, with Jean’s granddaughter, the Rev. Heather Henson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Springvale. A reception will take place after the burial at The Family Center, located next door to the Carll-Heald and Black Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Jean’s name to the mission funds at either First Baptist Church of Greenwood, 99 Main St., Greenwood, IN 46142 or Court Street Baptist Church, 129 Court Street, Auburn, ME 04210.
