AUBURN — An early-morning fire damaged a home at 17 Pond Crest Lane on Thursday.
Firefighters arrived at the home around 5:30 a.m. and spotted fire coming from the bedroom window on the second floor, Auburn Fire Department Battalion Chief Dean Milligan said.
The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes.
“Fire damage was limited to that room,” Milligan said. He added that the home suffered smoke and water damage.
The elderly couple who lived there safely escaped the home and no one was injured, Milligan said.
Pond Crest Lane is a dead-end road near Taylor Pond.
