JAY — The Jay Police Department has provided Spruce Mountain Middle School and the Jay and Livermore Elementary schools with anti-bullying promotional material.

The middle school received silicone bracelets with positive messages on them in the theme of anti-bullying. They also were given an anti-bullying program for teachers and students to use in education.

Elementary schools received Take a Stand, Lend a Hand theme kits consisting of pencils, bookmarks, stickers and classroom posters with anti-bullying messages on them.

The police department will also sponsor an anti-bully dance at the Spruce Mountain High School later this year.

The funds came from leftover money from anti-drug programs and funds provided by U.S. Cellular in Livermore Falls.

Police Chief Larry White said that it is the hope of the Jay Police Department that the items will help in the anti-bullying program.
