PORTLAND (AP) — A Biddeford man called 911 to report that his landlord was making “death threats” just 40 minutes before he and his girlfriend were shot to death, according to transcripts of the call.
The transcripts of the Dec. 29 call were made public Tuesday days after Maine’s high court ordered them released.
Derrick Thompson said in the call that his landlord was pointing his fingers like a gun.
The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/18OYeDG ) reported that officers responded but determined the dispute was a civil matter and did not make an arrest. The dispute was over late rent, snow shoveling and parking.
Authorities said minutes after police departed, the 19-year-old Thompson and 18-year-old Alivia Welch were killed.
Their landlord, 75-year-old James Pak, is being held without bail after pleading not guilty to charges including murder.
