1937 – 2013

LEWISTON — Madeleine P. Perron, 76, of Lisbon Falls, passed away Tuesday Nov. 19, at d’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 16, 1937, the daughter of the late Charles and Paula (Vermette) Belanger. She graduated from St. Dominic High School as a member of the class of 1956.

In 1957, she married Donald Perron at St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston and together they worked and raised their young family in Lisbon Falls until his death in 1989.

Madeleine was previously a member of St. Peter’s Parish in Lewiston before moving to Lisbon Falls, where she was a member of Holy Trinity Parish.

She was a proud homemaker who enjoyed cooking for the priests at Holy Family Church in Lisbon Falls. She also worked with the senior citizens of Lisbon Falls as part of the Western Area Agency on Aging and on worked on floral arrangements for the Blais Flower Shop.

Madeleine was a member of “The Red Hatters,” and loved cooking, working with flowers and having friends over every day. She maintained close ties with her friends, having frequent sleepovers with her former classmates from St. Dom’s until her failing health no longer made it possible.

She will be remembered as a generous and loving mother, as well as a very social person who had many lifelong friendships.

Madeleine is survived by her five children, Michel Perron from Lisbon Falls, Richard Perron and wife, Julia, from Topsham, Susan Stegman and husband, Royce, from Dover, N.H., Peter Perron from Nottingham, N.H., and John Perron and former spouse, Jenniffer, of Lisbon; grandchildren, Derek, Nathan, Amanda and Corina Stegman, Colby, Morgan, Garrett and Wyatt Perron, Mariah and Tyler Bisson; and her many friends from St. Dom’s.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald.
