WILTON — A local woman escaped injury when her vehicle went over an embankment and landed in a stream Thursday morning.

Sandra Carlson, 45, was driving a Dodge Caravan on Pleasant Street at about 9 a.m. when she had a medical issue, Wilton police Sgt. Chad Abbott said. Her vehicle crossed the road, went over an embankment and into the stream, he said.

NorthStar ambulance was called, but Carlson was not transported, he said. She was alone in the van and no other vehicles were involved.

Wilton Fire Department responded, but no fluids leaked into the stream, he said.

There was minor damage to the van, Abbott said.
