The USM Lewiston-Auburn College Veterans Club, in cooperation with the Student Government Association, held a flag-raising ceremony on Sept. 11 in front of the main campus entrance in honor of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Students, staff and faculty took part. The ceremony included words by USM LAC Dean Joyce Gibson and Lewiston Mayor Robert Macdonald. Pictured raising the U.S. flag are Veterans Club members Marcel Couturier and Julie Lynch. The club helps connect its members with on-campus resources needed to transition from military to civilian life. It also generates awareness of veterans on campus and serves as a voice for veterans on campus.
