LISBON FALLS — Philip and Bernice (Bunny) Berry of Lisbon Falls recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary and Mrs. Berry’s 85th birthday, with a small family dinner party at the home of their daughter, Sherry, and son-in-law, Charles Gurney in Lisbon Falls.

A sparkling cider toast, decorated cake with their photo on it and a fall arrangement of flowers were presented to the couple in celebration of their anniversary. For Mrs. Berry’s 85th birthday, her favorite dessert was served, an apple pie.

Mr. Berry and the former Bernice Karkos were married Oct. 23, 1958, at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Lisbon Falls.

Mr. Berry retired from Pejepscot Paper Co. in 1990, after 33 years of service. Mrs. Berry was the best stay-at-home mom.

Earlier this summer the couple renewed their wedding vows, with other couples, at a special anniversary Mass at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls.

The couple has two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Richard Plummer and Sherry and Charles Gurney.

They have four grandchildren, Aaron Plummer and partner Amanda and son, Kane, Nichole Clark and husband, John, Molly Robitaille and husband, Jeffrey, and Christian Gurney and wife, Sarah.

They have six very special great-grandchildren, from oldest to youngest, Gavin and Carter Robitaille, twin girls, Emma and Brynn Gurney, Alivia Clark and her new baby sister, Miranda Clark.

The couple has lived in Lisbon Falls all their lives. They enjoy keeping up with all the family events that take place, and there are many of them. They love every minute of it and it keeps them young at heart.
