1922 – 2013

ENFIELD, Conn. — Mary Jane (Dumais) Rubino, 91, of Enfield, Conn., and lifelong resident of Lewiston, passed away at her daughter’s home on Friday, Nov. 22, with her family by her side.

Mary Jane was born in Lewiston on Aug. 21, 1922, the daughter of the late Romeo and Marie Louise (Plante) Dumais. She was born and raised in Maine, only recently moving to Connecticut to live with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.

Mary Jane enjoyed cooking, sewing and looked forward to decorating the house for the holidays. She loved visitors and her door was always open, with a pot of coffee and maybe a pie or cake for visitors. Mary Jane had a deep love for God and would share her faith with those who were dear to her. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary Jane is survived by her two children, Claire Scharoff and her husband, Mitchell, of Connecticut and Richard Soucy and his wife, Colleen, of Maine; three brothers, Richard Dumais and his wife, Adrian Dumais and wife, Diane, and Rudolph Dumais and wife, Anne, all of Maine; two sisters, Pauline Dumais of Maine and Cecil Siewert and husband, Raymond, of California; five grandchildren, Renee Scharoff of Boston, Mass., Tamara Scharoff of Windsor, Conn., Sarah Parlos and husband, Shane, of Windsor Locks, Conn., Nathan Scharoff and wife, Katie, of Windsor, Conn., and Shawn Soucy and his wife of Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband, Valentino Rubino; and a brother, Joseph Dumais.
