LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine will hold an American Red Cross babysitting course on Sunday, Dec. 8, and Sunday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. — just in time for New Year’s Eve babysitting.

The goal of this course is to prepare students the proper skills to care for infants, siblings, neighbors, or any child safely.

The YWCA babysitter training plus course will teach babysitters professionalism, help develop skills in leadership, basic care, first aid skills, home indoor and outdoor safety and certification in child and infant CPR. 

Cost is $75 for members and $90 for non-members and is open for boys and girls ages 11-15. Space is limited. For more information or to register, call the YWCA of Central Maine at 795-4050.
