SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Air Force Airman David R. Sterling, Air Force Airman Jennifer Soucy, Air Force Airman 1st Class Ryan R. Dillingham, Air Force Airman 1st Class Kristen Marcum and Air Force Airman Julie M. McMullen graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Sterling is the son of Susan and David Sterling of Auburn. He is a 2012 graduate of Edward Little High School.

Soucy is the daughter of Tammy and William Soucy of Lewiston. She is a 2010 graduate of Lewiston High School.

Dillingham is the son of Russell and Ann Dillingham of Lewiston. He is a 2012 graduate of Lewiston High School.

McMullen is the daughter of Vickie McMullen and granddaughter of Donna Cobb of Windham. She is a 2012 graduate of Windham High School.

Marcum is the daughter of Darlene and Dan Tremblay of Turner and the granddaughter of Rita and Bob Tremblay of Lewiston. She is the wife of Senior Airman Jacob Marcum of Lewiston, who is the grandson of Dora and Bob Marcum of Lewiston. She is a 2007 graduate of Henry Clay High School, Lexington, Ky.

GREAT LAKES, Ill. — Navy Seaman Recruit Logan J. Lecompte, son of Ronda A. and Mike J. Lecompte of Lewiston, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command.

During the eight-week program, Lecompte completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

The capstone event of boot camp is Battle Stations. This exercise gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet. “Battle Stations” is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of honor, courage and commitment.

Lecompte is a 2013 graduate of Lewiston High School.

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Army Pvt. Nathan R. Morin has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Morin is the son of Steven Morin and Pamela Morin, both of Lewiston.
