PARIS — A mile-and-a-half stretch of Route 119 between the two ends of Halls Pond Road was closed to traffic Wednesday as work crews fixed a collapsed culvert.
Vehicles were diverted around Halls Pond Road.
According to Maine Department of Transportation spokesman Ted Talbot, emergency road crews were called to the area late Tuesday morning to work on the failed culvert. It is unknown what caused the culvert to collapse, but Talbot said it was not one of the culverts replaced by MDOT this season.
The road was reopened to traffic later in the day.
