AUBURN — A 77-year-old local man died Wednesday after he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing Minot Avenue.
Police said George Cole of Auburn died at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston following the 5:20 p.m. crash a short distance from the Auburn Central Fire Station.
Cole was crossing the avenue in the area of Clover Manor when he was struck by a Chevrolet truck driven by James Gray, 55, of Gardiner, police said.
Gray was not seriously injured, police said.
Auburn Police were assisted by an accident reconstructionist from the Lewiston Police Department.
