LISBON — New Lisbon High School counselors, Shari Jordan and Amy Sewick, visited students enrolled in the morning and afternoon programs at Gartley Street School.
Counselors shared contact information for post-secondary aspirations to the group of juniors and seniors. Students were given information about applying to college, researching scholarships, apprenticeship opportunities and the benefits to having a plan in place before finishing high school.
Counselors will meet with students on a monthly basis to support and encourage them to set up appointments to meet with the counselors individually to discuss future plans.
Appointments with counselors for students and their families are available by calling 353.3030, ext. 2006. Counselors work with the MELMAC Education Foundation, orchestrating college visits and contacts in the community for mentor and internships to further student aspirations beyond high school.
