1931 – 2013

AUBURN — Dean Gray, 82, of Bridgton, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Hospice House.

Dean was born in Harrison on May 9, 1931, the son of Donald and Eda Rideout Gray. He attended Harrison schools and owned his own saw mill at the age of 17. He was a master plumber for many years, as well as owning and operating a campground for 45 years; this was the joy of his life. He also built cottages and homes.

He was the plumbing inspector for the town of Harrison from 1978 to 1988, and served on the Appeals Board from 1972 to 1986.

Dean is survived by his significant other of 16 years, Charlotte Wentworth; his daughters, Robin Gray Hamlin and Ruth Fleck; a half sister, Linda Houghton; grandchildren, Inga Smith, Darcy Hiatt and Nathan Fleck; six great-grandchildren; and a close family friend, Rick Rand.
