LEWISTON — Karl Saba, D.O., a pain medicine specialist, has been appointed to the Central Maine Medical Center medical staff. He is practicing at Central Maine Pain Management in Lewiston.

Saba recently completed an interventional adult and pediatric pain fellowship at Harvard Medical School-Longwood Medical Area in Boston.

He served an internship in internal medicine at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass., and completed residency training in anesthesiology at Tufts University School of Medicine-St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston. During his training, he was recognized with both a Pain Medicine Resident Award and the Levesque Pain Management Award for Compassionate Care and Excellence in Pain Medicine.

He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Medical Association, and the American Osteopathic Association.

Saba’s clinical interests include interventional pain management, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, as well as adolescent and pediatric pain management.

He is fluent in English, French and Lebanese Arabic.
