1956 – 2013
LEEDS — Alan S. Bachelder, 57, of Leeds, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Rumford, on March 21, 1956, the son of Gideon and Mabel (Phillips) Bachelder.
Alan worked as a dairy farmer for all of his life. On Sept. 12, 1992, he married Cathy Duguay.
He loved collecting antique cars, fishing, hunting, camping and giving nicknames to many people he met. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy of Leeds; his stepchildren, Michelle Donnell and husband, Walter “Junior”, of Greene, Richard Cooper and companion, B.J. Goodwin, of Leeds, Buddy Cooper and Scott Cooper both of Livermore Falls; his adopted son, Joseph Christian of Leeds; many stepgrandchildren, especially Joshua Cooper; and stepgreat-grandchildren; his sisters, Marie Lawrence and husband, Frank, and Sylvia Hibbard and husband, John, all of Kenduskeg, Patricia Nile and husband, John, and Velma Lowit and husband, Jason, all of Leeds; his brothers, Linwood of Phillips, Lubert and wife, Cindy, of Leeds, Charles and companion, Nicole Labbe, of Turner and John and wife, Susan, of Fayette; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Austin.
