AUBURN — From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, employees of Auburn Savings Bank will join WCSH/WLBZ and several other sponsors to collect Coats for Kids at the Auburn Shaw’s Supermarket, 600 Center St.

The organizations have partnered to collect Coats For Kids as part of an annual year-end drive to put gently used winter coats into the hands of less fortunate children across the state.

Donors who will not be able to get to Shaw’s on Saturday are encouraged to drop off their donations at bank locations at 256 Court St., Auburn, or 325 Sabattus St., Lewiston, before the end of the year

According to the Maine Bankers Association website, once collected, all the garments will be cleaned by Pratt Abbott Cleaners and transported by the Salvation Army for distribution. In 2012, participating Maine Bankers Association banking offices collected 1,450 coats.
