Final bingo until March is Dec. 11

AUBURN — New Auburn Seniors will hold bingo at noon Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Sacred Heart Church. It will be the last bingo until March 5.

Danville Grange meets Dec. 12

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. A Christmas program will be presented by the lecturer. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting.

Members are reminded to bring unwrapped games, books or toys for children to be given to the Salvation Army and toiletries for veterans. Anyone who owns a Santa hat is asked to bring it to be used in the program. All members and guests are welcome.

Commercial Travelers meeting

MECHANIC FALLS — Members of Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America will meet at 5 p.m.on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Bucknam Oaks for a business meeting followed by a potluck dinner.

Members are reminded to bring a gift for the gift exchange, which will take place after the meal. All members and guests are welcome.

Toy, food drive is Dec. 14

TURNER — Donations of toys and food will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Food City in the Northland Plaza on Route 4.

Anyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy or a nonperishable food item will be entered into a drawing to win two hours of limo service (some restrictions) from Affordable Limo of Maine. Runners-up will also win prizes from other local businesses.

Santa Claus, The Ghostbusters, Ironman and The Pit Girls will be there as well handing out candy canes. There will also be a photographer doing pictures with Santa for free.

The goal is to stuff the limos to the brim. Food donations will benefit RCAM and the North Turner food pantry. Toy donations will go to families in need in the Turner area.

This event is sponsored by Affordable Limo of Maine, Murray Oil, Food City and RCAM.

Board members needed

LEWISTON — Community Concepts in Lewiston is seeking volunteer members for its board of directors and various committees that help support and direct the mission of the agency.

Community Concepts provides a variety of housing, economic development and social services for communities in the Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford county areas. These services support both the basic needs of low income families and promote self-sufficiency.

The board invites those who have a background in business, marketing, law or accounting, and who have interest in its mission. Board meetings are held at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.

Senior Citizens Cribbage League

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Dec. 5 were: first, Ronnie Gould and Roger Labbe; second, Claudette Grandmaison and George Bussiere; third, Pauline Quimby and Don Haley; fourth, Jeannine Labbe and Sandy Oliver; fifth, Pat Records and Shirley Miller.

Disabled veterans meet Dec. 17

LEWISTON — Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11 will hold its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave.

The meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, except June, July and August.

Members are invited to bring a fellow vet or family member guest.

Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Dec. 9 were as follows: first, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; second, Luke Merry and Tom Goodwin; third, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman.

Winners on Dec. 10 were: first, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; third, Paul Sherman and Mike True.
