LEWISTON— Central Maine Medical Center’s Health and Fitness Center is offering the following group exercise programs beginning Monday, Dec. 16:

Cardio Sculpt: Combines low-impact moves with weight training targeting major muscle groups while addressing hard to reach spots. Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with Ian Barclay.

Core and Sweat: Weight training targets major muscle groups while addressing hard to reach spots. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. with Ian Barclay.

Fit ‘N’ Fun: Designed for the over-55 crowd, this entertaining exercise program can help participants improve aerobic capacity, strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with Michele Lamare.

Functional Fitness: Increase both core and upper body strength and improve the stability of abdominal and low back muscles. Fridays from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Happy Hearts and Lungs: Designed for people with a “cardiac event” history or pulmonary disease who have completed a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program and are looking for a “maintenance” program. The instructors are Sue Driscoll and Brandi Eastman. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Lunch Crunch!: Lunch-hour class to help burn calories and sculpt muscles. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. with Lin Bourque.

New Mom’s Power Hour: Class for active moms and moms-to-be helps participants enjoy a healthy pregnancy and return to or even exceed their pre-baby fitness level in a supportive, small group environment. Clearance is required during pregnancy and up to six weeks post-partum. Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Brandi Eastman.

Personal Fitness: One-on-one evaluation and program development session with a personal health counselor, then progressing to a structured group exercise plan overseen by instructors Nanette and Brandi. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Pilates: Class challenges the trouble areas — hips, thighs and triceps — as well as the abdominal and back “core” areas. Thursdays from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., with Jen Swift.

Power Plus: Functional weight and mobility training to increase flexibility and strength, resulting in lean muscle. Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with Rick Jalbert.

Step Aerobics: A heart-pumping, muscle-moving workout that alternates step with muscle work. Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. with Sue Driscol.

Step Express: Sensationally scintillating and stimulating step aerobics. Mondays from noon to 12:30 p.m. with Rick Jalbert.

Tone-N-Tighten: 90-minute total body workout that utilizes a combination of dumbbells, bands, aerobic bars and stability balls to tone the hips, gluteals, abdominals, legs and upper body. Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. beginning Dec. 14 with Lin Bourque.

Yog: Alignment-based yoga to gain strength and flexibility in your body, mind and spirit. Tuesdays from 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. with Tisha Bremner.

Yoga: Relax and Restore: Gently paced class combines meditation, breath work, and therapeutic and restorative yoga poses to enhance a sense of calm, well-being. Open to all experience and ability levels. Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. with instructor Tisha Bremner.

Zumba: Latin-inspired dance exercise program uses a variety of basic dance styles set to international music such as merengue, salsa and reggaeton. Six-week program is led by Cynthia Nicholas. Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Dec. 9.

All programs are offered in the CMMC Health and Fitness Center, 12 High St.

Fees are assessed for participation in these programs and must be paid prior to beginning the program. Class registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Membership in the CMMC Health and Fitness Center is open to the public. In addition to group fitness, the center offers personal training services, massage therapy, fitness evaluations, and a large variety of fitness equipment.
