LEWISTON — A funeral Mass honoring the life of Danatien H. Dutil was celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Holy Cross Church following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Marc Caron celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At the beginning of the Mass the Pall was placed on Danatien’s casket by his granddaughters, Christine Martin and Michelle Gardner, which commemorated his Baptism into new life. During the Mass, the First Reading was read by his cousin, Nichole Boulet and the gifts were brought to the altar by his great-grandchildren, Mikayla Dutil and by Stevie Martin. Military honors from the U.S. Army played “Taps” and presented our country’s flag to Danatien’s son, David Dutil. The pallbearers were Michael and Tom Davis, Sean and Kevin Woods, Peter Bridgford and Dana Antworth. A reception of fellowship was held at Marco’s Restaurant following the committal services at the cemetery. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston.
