RUMFORD — Selectmen will have a lengthy agenda of requests and approvals to consider at their 7 p.m. meeting Thursday, Dec. 19, in Rumford Falls Auditorium.

Up first is the presentation of the Citizens of the Year award to Robert and Louise Stickney, who have volunteered innumerable hours to the community.

The board will also be asked to approve Mexico and Rumford’s joint interim town manager contract for John Madigan. The Mexico town manager was hired Dec. 12 by selectmen in both towns to be shared.

Madigan will take over Monday, Dec. 23, for Rumford Town Manager Carlo Puiia, who resigned Sept. 19, citing personal reasons. An open house will be held at the Town Office from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, for Puiia on his last day as Rumford town manager.

* Request to approve taxicab licenses for Gilbert Gary Scott, doing business as EZ Taxi, and Ruth White, doing business as Road Hog Express.

* Request from Jim Rinaldo for a plan for marketing the business park.

* Request to extend the town’s wood-harvesting contract.

* Request to approve the town manager’s office copier bid.

* Request to direct the Planning Board to oversee implementation of the Comprehensive Plan.

* Request for Public Works’ support of emergency responses.

* Request to amend the agreement with Maine Public Employees Retirement System service retirement plan as it pertains to firefighters effective Jan. 1 for future services.

* Request to include an article on the annual town warrant for a quitclaim deed for Map 12 Lot 21, per Mark Davis.

* Request for a quitclaim deed for 134 Penobscot St.

* Request for a waiver for Sunday River Farms to transport perishable potatoes from their Whippoorwill Road location over a half-mile section of the posted road from March 1 through June 30.

* Request for a liquor license and special amusement permit for Rumford Lodge of Elks.

An executive session is also scheduled to discuss a personnel matter.
