LEWISTON — Imagine a roomful of chocolate delights to nibble on during the lull that occurs after the holiday season. Imagine pastries, cakes, whoopee pies and many other delicacies produced by a dozen of Lewiston-Auburn area’s fine restaurants and professional bakers. What you have is Chocolat!

Lewiston Middle School will present its second annual chocolate fundraiser for its school activities on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Following last year’s second successful Chocolat, this area event will be held at the Green Ladle on the Lewiston High School Campus.

Area bakers and restaurants will compete for professional awards such as Chocoholic’s Dream and Decadent Display. Patrons who participate will determine the people’s choice Candy is Dandy Award.

The Culinary Arts Students from Lewiston’s Regional Technical Center will also provide a savory table of foods to complement the chocolate delicacies offered.

Tickets are available at the Green Ladle and Lewiston Middle School during business hours as well as from many of the staff at the middle school and Green Ladle. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Among the area groups and businesses who have committed to participate are Bates College, Maine Gourmet Chocolates by Stephanie Bernachez, Russell Park Rehabilitation Center, Top It Frozen Yogurt Bar, Ella’s Chocolates, Rolly’s Diner, Marley’s Chocolat Lab (formerly Mingo Chocolates of Gray), Central Maine Community College and Cake and Candy Creations of New Gloucester.
