1922 – 2013

LEWISTON — Jacqueline B.R. Willette, 91, of Auburn, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 25, at Marshwood Nursing Center.

She was born in Ham-Nord, Quebec, on Nov. 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Armand and Leontine (Deschenes) Morin. She moved to Sanford from Canada when she was only 6 months old. She grew up in that area and attended the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in Portland. For most of her working years, Jacqueline worked as a stitcher for various shoe businesses in the area, one of which was Billen Shoe for 25 years.

Jacqueline loved quilting, reading and spending quality time with her family. She loved her country and took her civic responsibilities very seriously. She also enjoyed visiting with her sisters.

She is survived by her five children, Rose Keene and her partner, Jim Walker, of Auburn, Carrine Brunetti and her husband, Jim, of Lewiston, Glenn Willette and his wife, Paula, of Auburn, Annette and James Lavallee of Auburn and Manzer Willette of Auburn; seven siblings, Rita Rix, Doris Drouin, Madeline Fortier, Joseph Morin, Bernadette Morin, Mary Anna Morin and Mary Emma Morin; nine grandchildren, Peter and Christian Keene, Angela Hubbard, Stephen Brunetti, Peggy (Gibbings) Gaumont, Bonnie Leclair, Sam Willette, Neiley Harris and Benjamin Lavallee; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Manzer Willette, in 1986; and 11 siblings, Camille, Georgette, Thomas, Edouard, Phillip, Yvonne and Dominic Morin, Simone Jones, Theresa Tanguay, Germaine Melanson and Elizabeth LeMay.
