AUBURN — Raymond A. Labrie, 78, of Auburn, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, at the Hospice House, following a long illness.
He was born in Auburn on Nov. 19, 1935, the son of Omer and Veronique (Raymond) Labrie. He was a lifelong resident of Auburn, attending its schools and later becoming employed as a tractor-trailer driver for Union Camp, now known as International Paper. Following his retirement from Union Camp, he worked for R.D. Roy and Morin’s Excavating, both in Auburn.
In his spare time, he enjoyed his horses, sled dog racing and making trips to Amish Country in Pennsylvania; and he made many friends along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Auburn; three daughters, Joanne Labrie of Auburn, Louise Labrie of Auburn and Janet Labrie of Sabattus; two granddaughters, Reanna Labrie of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Leah Punch of Auburn; one brother, Robert Labrie and his wife, Therese; three sisters, Therese Deschenes of Auburn, Irene Delorme of Auburn and Florence and her husband, Bertrand Raymond, of Auburn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
