ROCHESTER, N.H. — Brandon Dyer scored the game-winning goal on a short-handed sitituation and Liam Benson got the assist as Edward Little shook off Nobe, 2-1, in hockey game Monday.
Noble scored first when Dean Pratt dropped in his goal in the second period. But Benson tied the game in the third period before Dyer scored the winning goal.
Girls’ hockey
Scarborough 3, Lewiston 0
SACO — Elizabeth Gross, Rachel Wallace and Sami Shoebottom each scored a goal in the third period as Scarborough shut out Lewiston, 3-0, in a girls’ hockey game Friday.
Devan Kane made 18 saves in net and Scarborough capitalized on two of seven power-play goals.
Girls’ basketball
Rangeley 48, Valley 29
RANGELEY — Taylor Esty scored 18 points as Rangeley dropped Valley 48-29 in a girls’ basketball game Monday.
Undefeated Rangeley (5-0) jumped out to a 24-6 lead at halftime, with Tori Letarte scoring 10 points.
For Valley, Teegan Laweryeson scored 16 points.
St. Dom’s 39, Carrabec 32
NORTH ANSON — St. Dom’s learned how to make do after Alexis Dwinell hurt her ankle and Kelly Pomerleau and Faith Grady got into foul trouble, but the Saints pulled out a 39-32 victory over Carrabec in a girls’ basketball game.
Callie Grecco scored 11 points Pomerleau dropped in 12 for St. Dom’s.
Leavitt 43, MCI 41
PITTSFIELD — Meaghan Dow dropped in 13 points to pace the Leavitt Hornets to a narrow 43-41 victory in girls basketball. Tasha Cloutier had 11 points in the victory.
Brianna Losee led the MCI Huskies with 13 points.
The win puts Leavitt with a .500 record of 3-3 and MCI falls to 1-5.
Lisbon 72, Winthrop 24
LISBON — Katelyn Fowler paced Lisbon to a 72-24 victory over Winthrop in girls’ basketball with 18 points.
Mikayla Yanez had 16 points while Adrianna White dropped in 11 points and Mia Durgin pitched in with ten.
Randi Dennett led the Ramblers with seven points.
Lisbon is now 2-4 and Winthrop is 0-7.
Boys’ basketball
Valley 86, Rangeley 34
RANGELEY — Collin Miller threw in 22 points and Jordan Laweryson scored 10 as Valley walked off with an 86-34 victory over Rangeley in a boys’ basketball game Monday.
Valley took a 51-24 lead at halftime. For Rangeley, Mike Haley scored 11 points.
Leavitt 49, MCI 42
PITTSFIELD — Elie Calder scored 11 points and Levi Morin dropped in nine and pulled down 11 rebounds as Leavitt took down MCI, 49-42, in a boys’ basketball game.
Gabe Seeley scored eight points and pulled down 11 rebounds for Leavitt. MCI’s Jordan Valente scored 11 points.
St. Dom’s 49, Carrabec 40
NORTH ANSON — Madison Jalbert scored 14 points and Hunter Fernald scored the team-high 16 as St. Dom’s dropped Carrabec, 49-40, in a boys’ basketball game.
Eric Ulin scored 10 for the Saints. Richard Laytons scored 12 points for the Cobras.
Winthrop 46, Lisbon 37
WINTHROP—Jacob Hickey dropped in a game high 16 points in Winthrop’s 46-37 victory over Lisbon in boys’ basketball action Monday.
Teammate Matt Sekerak helped out in the Ramblers victory with 11 points.
Tucker Brannon paced the Greyhounds with 12 points in the losing cause.
With the win Winthrop moves to 5-2 while Lisbon falls to 2-5.
EL 42, Mt. Blue 25
FARMINGTON —The Edward Little Red Eddies controlled the game from start to finish in the 42-25 victory over Mt. Blue in girls basketball Monday.
Kory Norcross led the way with 17 points for EL with nine points coming behind the three point line.
Tianna Harriman had a three pointer of her own. She finished with ten points.
Miranda Nicely led all scorers with 18 points for Mt. Blue.
EL remains undefeated at 7-0 while Mt. Blue drops to 3-4.
Oxford Hills 49, Bangor 44
BANGOR — Anna Winslow scored 16 points and Mikayla Morin added 12 as Oxford Hills sidestepped Bangor with a 49-44 victory over Bangor in a girls’ basketball game.
Mary and Katie Butter combined 26 pints for the Rams.
