1958 – 2013

RANGELEY — William “Brad” O’Connor, 55, of Minot, died suddenly in the woods of Rangeley on Monday, Dec. 30.

He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 1, 1958, a son of Robert and Elizabeth (Brown) O’Connor. He was educated in Minot and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1977. Brad married his high school sweetheart, the former Dianne Rand, on June 2, 1979. Brad was employed at Formed Fiber Technology for the past 30 years; he was the warehouse manager.

Brad grew up in Minot and was a member of the West Auburn Congregational Church. Brad was a true family man and he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandsons. He and Dianne loved to spend weekends and vacation time in Rangeley at the camp they built with their family.

Brad was happiest when he was outdoors, especially in the woods. He was a dedicated hunter and fisherman, and was the “unofficial guide” for many friends and family through the years. Brad enjoyed keeping busy volunteering at Farmer Whiting’s, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and playing softball.

He leaves his wife of 34 years, Dianne, of Minot; his father, Robert O’Connor, of Minot; his three children, Shawn W. O’Connor of Minot, Michael C. O’Connor and wife, Elizabeth, of Minot and Kelli A. Young and husband, Kenny, of Springfield, Vt.; two sisters, Kathy Attwood and husband, Paul, of Minot and Patty Roy and husband, Dick, of Minot; two brothers, Kevin O’Connor and wife, Karen, of Mt. Vernon and Tim O’Connor and wife, Robin, of Bowdoinham; two grandchildren, Andrew M. and Matthew C. O’Connor; his father-in-law, Erlon Rand Jr., of Turner; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
