1944 – 2013
SUMMERFIELD, Fla. — Earl “Buz” G. Crane Jr., 69, of Summerfield, Fla., passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 31.
Born in Lewiston on Dec. 4, 1944, the son of Maxine and Earl Crane, he resided and recreated in Maine for the better part of his life. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 30 years, retiring to Summerfield, Fla., in 2010. He volunteered for Lake Griffin State Park in Fruitland Park, Fla., and was a member of the Friends of Lake Griffin State Park.
He was a cherished and beloved husband, father and friend. He was knowledgeable in many trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., and eager to lend a hand wherever and whenever needed for family and friends, and at times even strangers. There was no project too complicated, nor too challenging, to overcome (in his own way!!!).
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Madeleine “Mattie”; sons, Scott and David; daughters, Lea, Sherry and Claudine; grandchildren, Ashlie, Logan, Ford and Hunter; and great-grandsons, Isaah and Ethan.
Earl was predeceased by his father and mother; and brother, Gary.
