The River Valley area is infectious with holiday fairs and events going on; such a wonderful time of the year. We need to keep the momentum going year round by taking pride in our communities and what our businesses have to offer right here in the River Valley. Watch for the Chamber’s new Gift Certificate Program coming in 2014.

The Chamber’s Membership Drive is in full swing as the main goal is to be able to network with other organizations and municipalities in our River Valley Area. As a business ask yourself these following questions: Is it feasible for my business to get as much exposure as it can through networking and low cost or free advertising? Should my business take advantage of other marketing venues that are offered to me? Do I want my business in a healthy, marketable area?

If you answered yes to any of the questions, becoming a member of the River Valley Chamber is for you. Call the Chamber Office at 364-3241 or email Cheryl at info@rivervalleychamber.com and she will assist you with membership material.

The Chamber Board of Directors held their Christmas Party at Brian’s Bistro Dec. 3. In lieu of doing an ornament exchange, it was decided to have everyone bring some non-perishable items for one of the local food pantries. Now that’s the true meaning of Christmas.

The Rumford Information Center has new hours over the winter season. It will be open Thursday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. providing that there is staffing available. Jon Holmes is always looking for more volunteers to help staff the Information Center; maybe you would like to meet people from all over the world. If you would like to volunteer at the Information Center stop in during the open hours or give the Chamber office at 364-3241 a call.
