FARMINGTON — The Neighbors Helping Neighbors of Franklin County are planning a fundraising Masquerade Ball on Jan. 18 in the North Dining Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington.

A champagne social with hors d’oeuvres and a fontaine de chocolat begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dancing and a cash bar from 7:30 to 11 p.m.

A local band, Dreams of Heroes, will provide the music, Neighbors Helping Neighbors member Jon Bubier said.

Masks are required for admission. The cost is $20 per person. Tickets are available at Ron’s Market, Madore’s and Douin’s Markets and Fitness Express.

For more information or tickets, call Ivan at 491-5074, Liz at 778-0297 or Arleen at 778-6520.

“Last year was a lot of fun,” Bubier said.

Along with the fundraiser, the group is looking for projects to work on, he said.

Its goal is to help their neighbors by filling the gap for those needs not met by other agencies, he said. Sometimes it is a matter of pointing the person in the right direction if it’s something they can’t accomplish, he said.
